Being a sad pegless guy for the last 10 years hasn’t done much for my knowledge of grinding apparatus, and I know I’ll be hounded to the ends of the earth, not to mention strung up by my cock and balls by a rabble of peg-thugs for not doing a grind-related top 5; so I sorted it. Don’t go saying I don’t treat you right. For a change, this weeks panel consists of Ben Stringer, H.M.F.I.C. at BTN(Brighton) BMX Shop and Jonathan Rubbersmith, aliased industry insider with far too much to say for his own good… both seasoned grinders with a better idea about pegs than the pedal-grinding prick typing this. It seems the guys at Tree are popping out new products faster than we can write about them. Next up is this simple, stylish Timmy Theus signature top load stem that is out now. CNC’ed from 6061-T6 aluminium to Timmy’s exact specifications and styling, this will hold those steering wings of yours tighter than a chubby kid holds a cream cake.

Tree Bicycle Co are coming out thick and fast with new products over the last couple of weeks, this time they veer into the realm of bar ends. Tree’s previous record with bar ends have seen the screw in type for Tree’s own bars but now they’re taking on a universal wedge type design for every other bar on the market. These little gems are made from 6061 aluminium, tighten using a 6mm allen key and will stop you gutting your self like a fish with the ends of your poorly cut/filed down bars. Enough said.
Forks with AD990 mounts are a rare gem these days but the guys at Tree Bike Co. have topped it with these super limited edition Okan forks with low profile removable brake mounts. These are great for those who aren’t fully committed to the idea of having a pair of metal spikes welded to the front of your ride. Head over to Tree’s webstore to snap a set up while you can.
The folks at Tree Bike Co have made these neat little one-piece headset dust cap/spacer contraptions to end the horror of stacking mismatched headset spacers and generally tidy up your front end. They come in 15 or 20mm versions in a variety of finishes (Black, red, blue, gold, silver and woodgrain) You can get them here at Tree’s webstore.

Tree have been churning out bomb proof products for over a decade now and here are their first fork; the Okan Fork, which is available now from all Tree dealers. The Okan fork features thicker gauged yet slimmer, triple butted 4130 tubing to strengthen things up, plenty of room on the dropouts for larger diameter/ plastic pegs and a proven Tree H24 Top Cap to top it off. As well as being available in two different offsets, the Okan fork also looks to be coming out in a 25mm offset with removable brake mounts…

Head over to the Tree website to check out their new Modular Hub Guards they have been working on for a while now. These 4130 heat-treated hubguards will be available in both front and drive and non-drive side versions and should fit a variety of different hubs on the market. Look out for info on these on display at Interbike in a few weeks.
Oh boy I do have a soft spot for woodgrain. The boy’s at Tree are at it again, and have a full range of parts available in this magically awesome finish, which lets be honest if any one is to make, it should be them.
Available in the next few months are pegs, bars, stems, sprockets, sprocket guards, headsets, forks and more all in this rather nice dark woodgrain. The more observant ones of you out there will notice Tree’s new Okan Fork which will be available soon. More on that one closer to Interbike….
Tree Woodgrain finish is going to be available for all our parts this summer! Handlebars, stems, sprockets, sprocket guards, hubs, headset caps, headsets, seat post, pegs, forks, and barends.

Spotted here is another look at Tree’s prototype Pedals we caught a glimpse of last week. This better look shows that these are clearly an unsealed alloy pedal with removable pins. I’m into the low profile and tough knurling on these, expect to see more info from Tree real soon.
